Thanks to a dedicated crew at the Experimental Sound Gallery in St. Petersburg, Streifenjunko had the possibility to visit Russia for the first time during the Shadows of Sound festival. The Shadows of Sound festival took place on the 24th and 25th of June at the Experimental Sound Gallery (http://www.tac.spb.ru/), and on the program was different Russian and foreign artist.

Koboku Senju tour and releaseJune 15, 2010
The quartet existing of Eivind Lønning, Espen Reinertsen, tuba player Martin Taxt and japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama, has now become a quintet including the japanese improvisor Toshimaru Nakamura on no input mixing board. The quintet, named Koboku Senju, released their second album Selektiv Hogst on Sofa in May 2010, the first being "Varianter av døde trær" by the former quartet. Koboku Senju just finished an US release tour with the new album, visiting Chicago, Philadelpia, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans and San Antonio. For ordering and more info, please visit this link.

During three weeks of January summer heat, Streifenjunko experienced the cities and the countryside of Australia, the originality of Australian experimental music and the great hospitality of Australian artists. We performed in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Blue Mountains. Special thanks to everyone involved with the NOWnow festival in the Blue Mountains for taking so good care of us!

Streifenjunko was proud and honoured to collaborate with Norwegian video artist Kjell Bjørgeengen and British guitarist Keith Rowe on four different locations in Norway during 2009, and we are happy to announce that this collaboration will also continue in 2010. We will play together at the Festival Cable#3 in Nantes on the 18th of February, and at the Sonic Acts VIII Festival in Amsterdam on the 25th of February.
